Support for Patients, Families and Caregivers

We’ve found that patients, families and caregivers of all faiths often have more intense spiritual needs at critical life transitions, such as end of life. Some people desire spiritual counseling and prayer; for others the spiritual presence provided by a member of the clergy can be of tremendous comfort. Still others need special cultural or religious rituals to obtain spiritual comfort.

At CompassionCare Hospice, we place great importance on helping people find spiritual peace in the faith of their choice, and provide a variety of services to help patients and their families achieve this. Our services include, but are not limited to:

  • Visits by chaplains for conversation, prayer, inspirational and scriptural readings, etc.
  • Finding/arranging specifically requested religious and spiritual rituals, including communion, ceremonial rites, meaningful music, etc.
  • Life reviews, assisted by a chaplain or other counselor
  • Funeral planning

Education and Support for Faith Communities of All Denominations

CompassionCare Hospice realizes that many conversations about illness, aging, dying, grief and end-of-life decision take place in churches, synagogues, mosques, temples and other places of worship. Our staff and trained volunteers are available to support both clergy and congregations, by providing comprehensive and sensitive information about these difficult topics.

We have a variety of frequently requested materials and presentations currently available, or we can tailor programs and services to your specific needs. There is no charge for these services; grants and donations fund these presentations.
